Back in the kitchen with great tasting recipes.

Hi everyone, after months of a whole lot of medical issues and no appetite, and just feeling down I’m finally back in the kitchen with great tasting recipes, and doing what I love.

Let me tell you with all that downtime, I had a lot of time to surf the web and work on my website. While searching the web looking for new affiliate programs, I ran across The Temu website, I kept seeing ads for it everywhere and yes, I was just as skeptical about it as most people, but then I saw they have an affiliate program themselves.

I read through the requirements and their policy, and it was very easy to join. But still, I never ordered from them. I thought to myself I should order before promoting the company.

Looking through the actual site I was pretty impressed. I asked a few friends if they’d heard of it and if they knew of any reviews, to my surprise they already had accounts and have been ordering for a while.

I asked my girlfriend if we should order from them, and she went ahead and created an account and ordered from them first. She received her orders with no issues. So, I decided to create an account and order myself. After ordering and receiving my products with no issues, I went ahead and joined the affiliate program. Here is my link if interested https://temu.to/k/usiU5SuCNPtuO98 I do have to disclose that I may get a commission when you download the app and or place an order.

On to what this site was created for. Let’s talk about food. During my downtime, I also discovered three great tasting recipes that I want to try and one that I thought up myself, it’s four-cheese chicken parm. I'm not sure if it’s already out in the world, but I will try it. And will be adding them to my recipe page at www.danielscookwareblog.com

The 1st recipe I’m going to try is the chicken parm with a four-cheese combination. I have had, and made three cheese parm but never four. This recipe calls for ricotta. “Yummy,” I’ll be making that tonight. The 2nd recipe is an apple-filled empanada with a sugar coating on the outside.

The 3rd recipe is a flavorful tomato-based taco casserole. The secret to this is tomatoes and tortillas layered between each of the three tiers of meat and cheese. This one I’ll make Saturday; this recipe sounds like a weekend fiesta dish.

What makes these recipes special is the fact that I haven’t been up for anything until now. I’m going to make these recipes as if a party were going on. Hmm, maybe a fiesta is exactly what is needed.

Folks, the chicken parm was delicious, and I’ll be adding it to my site soon. I did make one change, the recipe called for plain breadcrumbs, I used Italian-flavored breadcrumbs. Ok, enough of that, the recipe will be up soon.

I would love to hear from you folks regarding recipes. I love a good home-style meal. And I know there are plenty of recipes out there I haven’t tried. One thing though I don’t do spicy, but that will not stop me from featuring recipes on my site with credit going to the creator.

I know how hard everyone works, and a little recognition goes a long way. I feel that Cooking is not just a necessary chore, but a fun and creative activity that allows us to explore new flavors and nourish our bodies with healthy meals.

Whether you're an expert chef or a beginner like me, cooking offers endless possibilities for cooking fun that is actually to me an art form that brings joy, and satisfaction to our lives, especially when making it fun with friends and family.

Grilling, how can you not like grilling? My friends and I can spend hours outside with the grill going, nothing cooking yet of course, but just out there enjoying the weather, the talks, and the gossip… Do you know what I mean?

Even though this year I haven’t enjoyed much of it considering the medical issues, I’m planning on making it up before winter hits, believe me, you. I haven’t had anything with barbeque sauce since December 2022. I know, it’s like a sin.

I don’t know if you can tell in my writing how passionate I get about cooking, but then the writing dwindles as I talk about other stuff. If it’s bothersome I apologize. I’m sure I’ll get better at writing blogs, but I just write what I feel right now.

And yes, that’s what blogging is all about, catching the reader’s interest, and what better way than with food? It always has my attention. And believe me, I can write and talk about food for hours. My girlfriend and I are always trying to come up with new ideas for the kitchen, sorry to say most meals get kind of boring.

Hell, once I decided to use chunky canned chicken breast, elbow noodles, sloppy joe sauce tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese and create a dinner, I have to say it came out pretty good, not a meal fit for a Christmas dinner or anything, but I have to say it came out pretty good. I believe I made that concoction I don’t know say three years ago and not too long ago she asked me to make it again. Of course, I said no because of the way I felt. Maybe I’ll surprise her soon by making it.

That last concoction that I mentioned is the type of recipe I’m looking for from my readers, Fancy is good, but downright “whatever is in the kitchen” is better. My mom always told me, you’re not always going to have everything you need in the kitchen when you want it, so you’ll have to improvise.

And I consider myself the king of improvising, moms and dads out there know what I’m talking about. Let’s see I have no tomato paste, I guess I’ll thicken up this tomato sauce. No rice for the chicken and rice, now it becomes pasta ala king or something like that.

The point is to make it fun, like I said before why should it be a chore? I love watching parents with little ones in the kitchen, that is both fun and entertaining. When my kids were small, I gave them little things to do, and my son once asked me “Dad why is my knife different than yours or mom’s?” Mind you it was a child’s safety knife. I told him, “That’s because that knife your holding is a chef’s best friend.” After that, he wanted to buy a chef outfit like his mom. Now he’s almost 40 years old, and the best damn griller I know.

Those are the joys in life, the memories created by cooking together. Don’t get me wrong, spending time with family doing anything is great, but something about being in the kitchen is just awe-inspiring. The learning, the teaching, the aroma, the feeling of accomplishment, when someone walks in and says, “Wow something smells great.”

Before the issues, I was teaching my girlfriend how to cook different meats, and how to use seasoning properly. She knows the basics of cooking but lacks the confidence to try new things. I can’t blame her, she didn’t have anyone to teach her how to cook, she lost her mom when she was young, and being an army brat didn’t help. Her dad is a very cool guy, I’m pretty sure he was busy with military stuff though, being that we were in conflict at that time. My girlfriend is getting better though. Lately, she’s been making her own homemade pizzas and calzones.

Today is Saturday, so I’ll be making the taco casserole recipe. Once I make that and hopefully approved by the family, I’ll be adding all of them to my recipe page. Just today I updated the sweets page with cheesecake and other yummy goodies.

I don’t have many recipes on there yet, but working on them as I go. I’m really hoping to receive recipes from my readers, so I can try them and add them as well.

That’s all I have for this blog. I just wanted to share my findings, and let you all know I’m better and back in the kitchen.

Thank you.

Daniel Marrero.
